TGIF!

Last night I went to Ben's football game with my Father-in-law and we had a great time. We left 3rd quarter, because it was already 9:30, but Ben's team did awesome the first half, and his kickers did a good job the whole game.

Our seats were 26 rows up, walking up and down was no problem, I'm not completely out of shape yet. However being UNABLE TO SEE MY FEET made me nervous. At one point the thought "why am I even looking down when I can't see my feet meet the stairs" crossed my mind. I probably made those around me a little nervous too, waddling around.

I came home and baked a dozen cookies for Ben to take with him on his Cross Country trip and he got home around 11:30 and quickly finished him packing. This weekend while he's 'on the road again' I have big plans! I'm getting a pedicure, having lunch in Austin with a friend, reading a good book, finishing a few sewing orders watching college football and organizing my bathroom. I am pretty psyched about buying drawer inserts for the bathroom, I think I'm nesting early.

All for now, I hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend!

Wedding season is over!

Last night we attended our last scheduled wedding for the summer. It was beautiful and we had a great time. I'm so glad Ben got to see his best friend from high school Mike, who he hadn't seen in about 5 months (I know this, because it was the day I tested pregnant and Ben was bouncing around and it was the first thing he told Mike when he saw him).

The wedding was outside, officiated from the pastor at our church and the scenery was lovely. Then the reception was inside, where we had dinner and did lots of dancing! Also, the cake was fabulous. I'm not sure how Ben made it through the wedding on one hour of sleep and a two hour nap between his meet and the wedding, but he did!

My BFF Jess is on her way, and should arrive within an hour, so I need to go hop in the shower so I'm ready to do 'girl time' when she arrives. Nothing like a day with your girlfriends, I've missed them SO much.

Picture is the grooms cake from the wedding. Both the bride and groom are alumni from Texas Tech University (and my Mother-In-Law appreciated it to, as she's a fellow Red Raider).

All is well

Today's Dr appointment went great.

I did my glucose testing, so at 10:45 I had to stop eating. At 12:45 I had to drink a super sugary drink concentrate, then one hour later they drew blood to check my blood sugar levels and iron count. I also saw my Dr (not the nurse practitioner, yea!) and we made a new vitamin plan since I'm still getting sick and not tolerating vitamins. YEA Folic Acid! YEA Calcium! YEA Iron! It's not the baby who's lacking these things, it's the Mom. When she asked me about how I was getting in my calcium I told her I usually drink two glasses of milk at night with dinner. Dr. Greene says I'm the only adult on the planet who drinks milk with dinner (really?) but I think this is ingrained from my formative years as a small child when we each drank milk with dinner. When we got a little older we moved on to iced tea.

Also, she explained why I'm having numbness in my ribs and terrible upper back pain. The baby is laying on my right side and hitting a nerve way up high. When she examined me she was really surprised by how short my torso is. I'm 5 foot 4 inches, but my torso length is that of a much shorter woman. So she said my uterus is already stretched way up high into my chest. She recommended a hot pad and stretching for my back (which I already do, really I do yoga in the middle of the night because it hurts that bad!) and the Tylenol is ok even every day. I declined the offer of muscle relaxers. On the pain scale, this is probably a 5 and I can tolerate it for now (ask me in two more months when my uterus continues expanding in my super small torso). She reminded me every pregnant woman is shaped differently, and I suppose this makes sense and did make me feel better.

I let Dr. Greene know I would be flying next month to visit my Mom, and she was a little unhappy about that. I'll be 29/30 weeks pregnant, and Dr. Greene said she's 'only' had one mother go into labor on a plane at 29 weeks. They did land the plane for her so she could give birth. *blink* I assured her I wouldn't fly if I felt labor symptoms (no way, no how).

I guess that's all. Ben's coaching a football game out of town tonight, and JD's coming in town and he's going to stay with us. Tomorrow Ben's got a Cross Country meet and we have a friend's wedding to attend in the evening. Then my BFF Jessica's coming in to visit Sunday. All in all, a fun weekend!
