Snoogle Bear kisses

When Ben gives Betsy kisses she laughs and laughs. Maybe she's ticklish from his beard, or maybe she just loves her Daddy. Either way it's very sweet.

Sweet Betsy pics.

Betsy watched 'So You Think You Can Dance' with me last night (while poor Ben mowed the yard, so hot!). She's rooting for Jeanine I think.

Sleeping Betsy. Look at those feet!

Pics before day two of school. Betsy was super happy when I dropped her off this morning. She gave her day care lady big smiles when we got there.

So thankful.

Today I'm feeling so thankful for my blessings. I have a wonderful family. I wonderful husband. A beautiful baby. We all enjoy good health. We have a nice home. I'm VERY thankful because we've made lots of new friends lately. I think I've been missing regular interaction with friends since I left Huntsville, so to find people we love to be around has been really wonderful.

Speaking of, last night I met up with three new friends from my cake decorating class for dinner at the Olive Garden. Laura Jane has four children. Jenny has two. Jill is pregnant with her first, and I have Betsy. They are all stay at home moms, but share my love for crafty things (and kids from listening to them talk about theirs!).

I don't know what happened. The first year or so Ben and I were here I felt like we would never find people close to our age to hang out with, but in the past six months or so many people have come into our lives and made it better. So I am thankful.

First day of school update!

It was a success. The women in charge of Betsy's room say she was a happy little camper all day. When Ben walked in to pick her up there were three babies in a Red Radio Flyer wagon and Bets was trying to push the wagon.

I am so thankful that we made it until Betsy was a little older (8 months) to start daycare. We're still sending her to Grandpa's daycare three days a week, but I'm excited about the increased interaction with other children and I want Betsy to get used to being around other people.

I'm meeting a couple girlfriends for dinner, but I can't wait to get home and kiss my baby tonight! I suspect she'll sleep well after this momentous day.

Happy Tuesday!

I have just a few pictures to share today. Life has been so busy, I have neglected the camera for a week or two!

Granny and the girl! She's holding her bottle consistently now. This morning she fed herself while I snoozed in bed next to her.

Sleep face

Betsy's first day of 'school'. She started daycare two days per week at our church. She was a very happy, giggly girl when I left this morning and I hope she has fun with all the other babies today!

Back on the bandwagon

My effots to lose weight this summer have yielded zero progress. I blame myself for lack of planning. When I plan my days and weeks out in advance I'm very sucessful at maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Last night (while Granny babysat that sweet baby), Ben and I did our weekly grocery run. We got to take our time and plan out the week. I happily came home with a whole pineapple, cantelope and small watermelon. Last night we sliced and diced the fruit and I packed my tupperware containers of yummy goodness for work today.

While I have had great success with Weight Watchers in the past I would really like to focus more on my health rather than losing weight as efficiently as possible. I'm using the free website Sparkpeople.com to track my calorie, carb and protien intake and try to eat the optimal levels of both to feel the best (and lose the baby/pregnancy weight I've put on).

I think I'll be more sucessful now that the summer is wrapping up. I'm better at keeping a schedule in the fall, and with Ben around less I'll probably eat more salads and less homemade spaghetti or tacos.

Wish me luck! I have the tendency to be 'all or nuthin' when it comes to watching what I eat, and I'm trying to put-my-all into this effort!
