Betsy meets the family

We had a great time Thursday night seeing everyone from my Dad's side and introducing Betsy to all her wonderful cousins. Mark and Cara were so gracious having us all to their home. What wonderful family Betsy and I have :)

I'm borrowing these pictures from Krista's facebook. Hopefully I'll upload some of the 75 or so vacation pictures tonight :)

Heaven is...

a surprise visit from Ben and Betsy! Complete with chick-fil-a for lunch. Here's the sweet girl, she cooed and smiled and made friends with everyone here.

Heading to Florida!!

I am so excited!! This time tomorrow I'll be sitting on a plane heading to Florida. I get to spend time with lots of my favorite people, my whole immediate family and my Dad's whole side of the family. I really hope Dad takes me to Grill's so I can have a Miami Vice. Yumm! It's been at least a year and a half since I had one, what with being pregnant and having the baby and all.

Brave woman that I am, I changed our departing flight to 8 am rather than the 1 pm flight I was originally on. This means little Betsy and I have to leave the house at about 4 am to drive to Austin, park, catch the hop to the airport and check-in. I'm considering going to bed as soon as I get home tonight so I get a decent night of sleep before heading out.

We packed last night while Ben was at his soccer games. I am so ready to see everyone, yea! for Florida. Now, off to be productive since I'll be missing three days of work.

Here are some Florida beach wedding photos. I think anytime I'm there I'll think of our wedding day :)

Wakey wakey

Betsy wakes up like her Daddy...very slowly.

The morning stretch.

If I'm awake to catch it, watching Betsy wake up is one of my favorite moments of the day. Second only to rocking her and her falling asleep. Also a very sweet moment.

Betsy and Ben had a full day yesterday, and last night she ate 9 ounces before bed. She's going through this weird eating stage when sometimes she'll only take 3 ounces, then a half hour later wants the other 2.5 ounces in her bottle, and sometimes she wants more. I think last night's huge bottle why we didn't hear a peep out of her. This morning she slept in, so I watched the morning stretch, changed her diaper (which earned me the first Betsy smile of the day) and put her in bed with Ben to cuddle.

She sleeps on her tummy with her little bootie in the air.

Stretch!!

Ooh, that stretch feels good.

Hey Mom!

Thanks for the diaper change. I love you THIS much!

Weekend update.

Ben's Spring Break started today. He's home with little miss sunshine. I think she's hit a growth spurt, she chugged 7.5 ounces at one point yesterday. In Shannon related news, I lost 4 pounds my first week back on Weight Watchers! Yea!

Saturday Ben and I went to one of his coworkers weddings. It was really beautiful. I wish I hadn't left my camera at work so I could have taken pictures. My favorite parts of the wedding was the music and the flowers. Hydrangeas and roses are my favorite!

After the wedding we met JD and Tiffbo for an early dinner. Always fun to get together with those two! We had Carino's and I REALLY enjoyed my non-point-friendly Italian dinner. We made a quick stop at the outlet mall on the way home to go to the Carter's store to pick up a swimsuit for Betsy. Ben has become an enabler about baby clothes. He picked out Betsy's first swimsuit and a new dress for her to meet Nana for the first time this week! We made it to Grandpa's by 8:00 to pick up the sweet girl and all headed home for bed.

Sunday was pretty mellow, I worked on my teacher certification and did laundry while Ben did yard work. He mowed, and weed-and-feeded the lawn as well as sodding one area that needed some work. Last night Raymond, Tiffray and little Ryder came over for Chili, baby play time and beer on the back porch (well, the boys at least). Toward the end of the night we all loaded the kiddos up and went for a walk around the trail by our house. I hope it warms up a little this week so I can take Betsy every night.

Here are a few blurry pictures taken with my cell phone this weekend.

Rain, rain go away!

Betsy and new friend Christian.

Betsy trying to roll over on her new friend. She tries to roll over every 'friend' we put in the crib with her.

It's cold and rainy around these parts. I don't *really* want the rain to go away because it's been very dry here are we need it. But 39 degrees and raining is not the best weather for running around town.

Hence, I am NOT running around town. No grocery shopping. No stocking up on books at the library. No dropping off my sewing machine for repair. No trips to Home Depot. Maybe tomorrow!

Mandy, a friend from work, came over with her sweet six week old son Christian this afternoon. I really admire Mandy for her strength, her husband is serving in the Army currently stationed in Iraq. She's doing great taking care of her little guy while Jason is away and they get to 'see' him on the webcam quite often. Both the babies did some napping, then got hungry around the same time, then of course posed for some pictures. Please forgive the grainy quality of the pictures, I forgot my camera at work so I had to make due with the camera on my cell phone.

Betsy, Madison and I are snuggled up in bed watching a movie. Ben is coaching a soccer game. I'm hoping tomorrow Tiffray and I are going to get a pedicure. Tomorrow evening Ben and I are heading to Austin for one of his co-worker's weddings. Other than that we're just relaxing this weekend. Ben's Spring Break starts today, and I have a short 3 day week next week before I head to Florida!
