Mommy's face: Better than a Fisher Price toy

Last night in an effort to appease my ailing daughter we had some play time. Betsy was laying on my tummy and crawled her way up to face-to-face with me. I was trying to avoid this position because vomit can happen at any moment and while I have an iron stomach concerning all things Betsy, I was not eager to experience vomit-in-the-face.

WELL. Little miss did not get sick. She smiled, laughed, spit her ninnie at me and treated my face like the little moving parts on her jumperoo! My nose, perfect for punching. My chin, perfect for chewing. My hair, perfect for pulling. My lips are also ideal for pulling. My neck, ideal for cuddling. I just gave in and let her do what she wanted. Until she mistook my nose for a pacifier. UGH!

Ben rescued me. He ran in with a wipe and wiped my and Betsy's faces clean. Oh it was fun. If I sound like I'm complaining, I'm not, I was giggling the whole time with her.

How well do I know Ben?

10. What is his favorite cereal? I don't think I have ever seen him eat cereal

11. What would he never wear? I can't think of anything, he's up for trying new things.

12. What is his favorite sports team? Dallas Cowboys

13. Who did he vote for? McCain

14. Who is his best friend? JD

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Throw the shoes at him that he leaves in front of the bed

16. What is his heritage? German and English I know of...

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? Yellow cake with chocolate frosting

18. Did he play sports in high school? Football, Soccer and Basketball

19. What could he spend hours doing? watching movies or listening to books on CD

20. What is one unique talent he has? Getting along with everyone. I don't know of one time Ben's ever said he disliked someone.

Quick update

The kiddo is still sick. Last night Ben AKA Super Dad cleaned up the Puking Patsy twice, once at 5:30 and again about 11 pm. So once again Super Dad slept on the couch so I could monitor Sick Sally. She slept well after vomiting, and was perky and cheerful this morning, she doesn't seem uncomfortable. She's with Grandpa today, I just couldn't miss more work and I know he's taking great care of her.

Speaking of names...in the hospital Friday while I was writhing in pain Ben told me I was Moaning Myrtle. If you're a HP fanatic like us you'll get this reference. It made me laugh in the midst of moaning.

What a week.

I've started this post at least three times, but putting into words what we've been experiencing for the last week is a daunting task. Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but here's the news in the B house:

I've been sick. Not just a little sick, VERY sick. It's lasted a week. I actually went to the hospital Friday because I got so dehydrated and I was worried about my blood pressure. Vomiting. That's all you need to know. Suffice to say I am sick of being sick, and Ben is sick of hearing me be sick.

As of yesterday Betsy has what I had. Projectile vomit three times all over me yesterday...and the floor...and the towel...and the changing table...you get the picture. She slept with me last night while Ben slept on the couch. I was terrified she would get sick then choke on vomit. Sorry if that's too much information. Most of the night we slept chest to chest, it seemed to help her get comfortable. She's been squirmy which makes me wonder if she's having the same stomach cramps I did with this virus.

I worked yesterday, and I plan to work this afternoon but I've pretty much been home for a week getting better and now taking care of sick Betsy. I am so grateful to have understanding coworkers (who questioned yesterday..."Shannon, are you SURE you should be here?") Apparently I looked as sick as I felt.

OK, It's 8 am which means the doctor's office is open, so I've got to go make a phone call. Thoughts and prayers for the sweet girl would be appreciated.
