Bearkat Betsy

We spent three fun days in Huntsville, Texas this weekend, home of our alma matter Sam Houston State University. Ben, Betsy and I left Killeen at about 6:30 in the morning so Ben could make an early round of golf. Our reason for heading to Huntsville was the wedding of our dear friends Angie and Trey. I'm splitting the trip into a few posts because I took too many pictures to make one post for the whole weekend!

Betsy with Aunt Ally, we met up for coffee before beginning the trek across campus

What a sweetie!

So tired, but so pretty!

Now that she's so mobile getting Betsy to sit still for pictures can be a difficult task!

So tired after all the fun, Betsy caught a ride on the luggage cart on the way up to the hotel room.

Go-go-gadget Betsy!

Betsy looooooves electronics. She crawls to the Wii or the computer. She loves to 'type' (bang) on the lap top. Last night we web-cammed with my Mom and in an effort to tire Betsy out I slid the lap top around the perimeter of the rug and she crawled to the laptop/Granny on the computer for three laps. We're training an Olympic athlete I tell ya.

Another Betsy gadget story...this weekend Betsy was sitting on Granny's lap in the bed facing the head board. She kept leaning toward the night stand and I told my mom "She wants the remote control." So Granny handed it to her and she held it in her had, turned her body around and pointed the remote control at the TV across the room. SERIOUSLY?!!! Who teaches her these things, she's six months old?! Mom and I got a big kick out of that.

The boys are back in town...

Ben spent the last six days road-tripping with 'the guys'. 'The guys' consisted of his dad, his brother, friend Chris, Uncle Byron, Cousin Jonathan, and his friends Web and Cody. They headed to southern Colorado to be one with the wilderness, wrestle bears and catch big fish. Pictures tell it best:

Beauitful scenery

Ben and his rainbow fish. I've named it Rainbow Bright.

They ate lots of good food...

After he got home, he was SO tired. And Betsy was SO worn out from the excitement of Daddy being home that they crashed out for a while.

Girl's weekend with Granny!

My Mom arrived in Killeen Thursday night and spent a great four days with Betsy and me. We did our version of 'taking it easy'. I laughed when I heard my Mom tell my Aunt Mary "Oh, we haven't done too much!" because I had to disagree.

Friday morning I worked a half day and headed home to play with the girls! We ran errands all over the place. Pictures of Granny and the girl at the furniture store.

At Target I spied this sweet purple plaid chair and thought Betsy would take adorable pictures in the chair. Special thanks to my Mom who bought and embroidered Betsy's initials on it.

We spent Friday night relaxing. Granny wanted to do EVERYTHING for Betsy. She fed her every bottle, baby food meal and gave her every bath. They were two peas in a pod. Granny even taught Betsy how to high-five, use a sippy cup (she laps like a puppy) and something else we ladies don't discuss in public...

One of our sewing projects was embroidering this crown for Betsy and this pirate hat for Betsy's boyfriend Ryder.

Wait! That's not Ryder. Here's Ryder.

Sunday we had my in-laws over (Ben's grandmother, mom, sister and my future sister-in-law Tiffany) for a special girl's brunch (quiche, beignets, mimosas!). We got together with my Uncle Bo's family twice... and Betsy was great all weekend.

Pictures of happy Betsy.

We miss you already Granny, hurry back soon. XOXO
