It was a mellow weekend. I had a hard time getting motivated to do the extra things. The house got cleaned, the groceries were bought, I bought a shower gift, I stocked up on baby food and formula. But I didn't do any sewing or baking or anything. Oh well, sometimes you need a slow weekend. Bets hasn't been sleeping too well, I suspect because she has a few teeth coming in at once. She is a little fussy, VERY drooly and a little warm.
Ben's football team is doing great, their record is 5-0 at this point. His kicker was the player of the game last week! Cross Country is ok, it's over half way over, but lots of their runners are injured right now.
Friday night was really fun, we had dinner with my in-laws at Cracker Barrel. Ben thinks his parents were shocked by how much food the kiddo puts away (chicken, chicken and dumplings, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni, baked apples, blue bell ice cream). And she still put away a 9 ounce bottle before bed. The girl can EAT.
Saturday Betsy took two long naps (which was nice since she hadn't slept so much the night before). I did a lot of reading, cleaned out the pantry and the refrigerator, watched some DVR'd shows. I basically relaxed (and held Madison because it was raining and she was scared). When Ben got home from his CC meet he and I went to Khols and the grocery store. I got an interview outfit and we did out big grocery trip. My in-laws watched Betsy for a couple hours which was SO nice, since he and I seem to have very little time alone lately (and clothes shopping is much easier without the baby).
Sunday we watched a movie, and Ben and I took a nice nap when Betsy was asleep. Then we had our good friend's the Osborns over to watch the Cowboys game! Their kids kept Betsy thoroughly entertained, and even fed Betsy dinner for me. The Cowboys lost, but we had a good time (and ate some of Ben's famous Chili).

Cutest couple ever.
Not that I'm biased or anything, but I think Little Lauren and Super Sean are about the cutest couple ever. I'm stealing these pictures as evidence from Lauren's facebook page. I miss my family. And yes, I'm counting Sean as family already.
On a double date to the zoo.

I like how Lauren probably made Sean be the shorter animal (I don't know WHAT animals those are). I can't imagine how he crouched down that low.

Just for good measure, here is LL with the self-proclaimed "President of the Sean Bedford Fan Club" (my Mom).

Aww. Aren't they sweet?

Post Mississippi State game I believe.

Weekend happenings.
Not much planned for this weekend! Tonight I suspect we'll all go to bed early because last night Ben didn't get home until almost 2 am because of a rain delay at his football game. Poor guy. Tomorrow morning he has a cross country meet, I'm sure he has to be back at school before the crack of dawn.
This afternoon I have a painter coming over to give an estimate on painting our dining room and touching up our kitchen and living room. If we didn't still need to paint the ceiling in the dining room, I would just do it myself, but painting a ceiling is awful, and since Ben barely has time at home I don't want him to have to spend it painting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he quotes us a reasonable rate, and I would LOVE to get this done before the couple's shower in two weeks!
Also, I need to find an interview outfit because I have an interview for a teaching position next week! I'm not nervous, I feel like if this is meant to happen it will happen.
There are a couple other little things I'd like to work on around the house.
- clean off the back porch (Ben)
- hang party lights outside (Ben)
- catch up filing (Shannon)
- look for curtains for the living room (Shan)
- look for artwork for the kitchen area (Shan)
That's all the weekend plans!

Busy, busy, Betsy
Betsy loves her activity tables. And her baby doll. Here she plays with them simultaneously.

Bets, where did your pants go? (I later found them wadded up under a play table)

Cheerios, juice and PBS cartoons, while Mommy made sugar cookies this weekend.

HEY! Little Monkey! Don't stand backwards in there!

Look how big she is in the vibrating bouncy seat. She used to be SO little.

Heading to the park so Betsy can swing and try the slides!

Aren't the twins sweet?

Betsy listening to the commentary before the Dallas Cowboys game. She's starting to understand more of what we say. Last night when she pulled up close to the TV I said "Betsy, no. Come here please!" and she did.

Is she walking or marching?

...and she's falling down.

Shan and Bets

Betsy must be getting tired (finally!) she's tugging on her ear.

Here Betsy getting a fake spanking from Daddy. I know, spare the rod, spoil the child. We're not to the spanking part of parenthood yet (I don't think I ever will be).

New Haircut and family picture.
A couple months ago we took a family picture for the football program at Ben's school. I almost ordered a package but they were expensive, and I'm glad I didn't because they sent a small package home with Ben yesterday! I'll be sending them to our parents and grandmothers soon!

I got a haircut last night. Oh man, it was SO much easier to do this morning. Blow dryer for 5 minutes, no straightening and I didn't get frustrated. I'm growing out the stacked bob so she cut lots more layers in all my hair to blend the back. I feel like I have half as much hair as I had yesterday (which is still plenty to work with).
