Family update

Ben's soccer team has made it to the regional quarterfinals. If you need a visual aid (like myself) here's the link to the brackets:

He plays tonight in Georgetown, and Betsy and I will be waiting anxiously to hear how the Tigers are doing. If it wasn't a school night we'd be there in a heartbeat, but alas we can't hang like we used to.

Yesterday I finished my alternative teacher certification program. I'm planning on testing next week, then taking my professional exam shortly thereafter, and applying for jobs like, NOW. I can't believe it. How time flies! I'm looking forward to the change :) And I'm still weight-watching. It's going well.

Betsy is her charming self. She was on her best behaviour last night so I went to bed early while she and Ben stayed up screening a movie Ben wanted to show to class. I only heard her squirm once, at 1:30 am when she lost her ninnie. I plugged her back in, and rolled her to her stomach and she slept the rest of the night. Which MEANS... I got 9.5 hours of almost uniteruppted sleep last night. Don't I look beautiful today? It's all that beauty sleep. (kidding!)

Also, we've been taking our family walks every night. I promise, I'm going to take a picture of our new park this week so you can apprecate my new favorite place. Betsy loves taking walks in the stroller. She's big enough now we can use our Maclaren Triumph stroller which is more walk-friendly than our snap-n-go frame. I love the snap-n-go, but it's better oriented to running errands (and not removing baby from carseat) and the Maclaren is lightweight and manuvers nicely. Someone stop me...I can gab about baby gear for days.

That's all. Since I'd mainly been giving yall picture updates I figured I should say something about how life is treating us. Which is fabulous.

I speak Benerman

I think couples develop their own language after years of being together. Last night was a perfect example. Ben sent me a text that said "BBQ Chick! Going to Water you want any?" I immediately understood this to mean they served barbecue chicken at his sports banquet last night. It did not appeal to him. He was stopping at Whataburger on the way home, and offering to pick something up for me if I wanted it. Would YOU have understood that text?

Another example is if one of us needs something, we aren't polite enough to say "Will you please bring me a napkin?" it turns into "Napkin me." We need to work on that one. We want the kiddo to have good manners, not go visit her friends houses and say "Juice me." We also abbreviate as many sentences as possible. I love you is Love. What do you want for dinner is Hungry? Ironically I am verbose in person. I love words. Why do we try to use as few as possible? I don't know!

I follow Ben's thought process WAY better than he follows mine. Last night I hear one side of a conversation with his coworker. "Uh huh, yeah, I'll talk to Shannon, let me ask my brother, when is your anniversary?" He hung up and said "July 17Th..." and I said "Sure, I'd love for us to go. It can be an anniversary weekend away." I figured out from what he said that he wanted us to go away for the weekend with some friends of ours, to stay in Austin and see the release of the Harry Potter 6 movie at the IMAX theatre.

OK, post over. Love.

Isaiah comes to play

I kept my cousin's baby Isaiah for a few hours last night. He and Betsy were both super quiet, they ate, slept and played. Of course, Betsy tried to smack him around and kick him. I wonder who is teaching her such behaviour? We don't want the bully baby.

Remember Betsy's cousin Isaiah? He's *almost* 3 months old.

She's discovered teething rings. MMMM.

Even before meeting all her extended Florida family, Betsy got to meet Snow White!

Does this bow make my ears look big?

Betsy earned her wings being a quiet traveler :)
