The word of the day is...
Tocks! Betsy keeps bringing me tock after tock and saying "TOCKS!" You know, tocks! Those things you wear on your feet inside your shoes!

She has an opinion.
Our new entertainment unit is kind of hard to decorate as the shelves are very small. The dimensions are strange. Anyhow I kept thinking I wish I had someone to bounce ideas off of then I realized Betsy was perfect for that. She would tell me "Oh yeah! I like!"
By far Betsy's favorite purchase of the day are these decorative wicker balls I found on the '80% off home decor' aisle at HL (this girl is a bargain shopper). I know these were here favorite because she kept talking about the "Baw! Baw! Oh yeah! I like! Baw Baw Baw Baw!" until I ultimately let her have one (which she held under her arm, resting it on her hip. I swear the kiddo has the personality of a teenager. WHO, I wonder, is teaching Betsy her vocabulary words? I HOPE she's not learning bad words, tonight she kept trying to stand up in the cart but as she was buckled in, and unable, she voiced her frustration with "Ugh, sit!" at least that's what I hope she was saying.
I digress. Decorating is hard work, I'm wiped out, and I think I'll fall asleep before my head hits the pillow tonight.

New Entertainment Unit
Learning to love herself.
True story: tonight Betsy, Ben and I were laying in our bed playing and talking. I asked Betsy "Who do you love the most?" her response was to pat herself on top of the head and say "Me!"
I foresee no self-esteem issues in the near future.

Dear Betsy,
I wish I could email my daughter during the day like I email my Mom. Too bad she can't read yet and has no internet access at daycare.
Today's email to Betsy would be something like...I think I miss you today more than you miss me. I loved seeing you this morning in your pink pig pajamas. I loved that you burped in my face and gave me kisses. But my forehead still kind of hurts from where you accidentally bonked me on the head with the remote control this morning. That WAS an accident, right Betsy? Remember, I control how many Nilla wafers you're given on any given day.
Love, Mommy

Betsy, this is snow!
Betsy had fun playing in the 'no' last night, especially once Daddy got home from work (ran in the house) and said "WHY AREN'T YOU GUYS BUILDING A SNOW MAN!!! I didn't try to get Betsy to smile, she was too intently playing with the snow. But I do love these pictures because I think you can tell how much fun we had. I don't know much about snow but I do know I don't like getting snow balls thrown at me. Parenting confession: I used my daughter as a human shield so my dear-sweet- husband would stop throwing snow balls at me. You'll notice Snow-Betsy in these pictures. Betsy and I made 'lil Snow-Betsy, (she kept trying to eat the Nilla Wafer eyes and steal the ninnie from Snow-Betsy's mouth). When Ben got home Snow-Betsy had a growth spurt and ended up resembling...an alien?!

Snow pictures.
Yes, I am fully aware that snow is not-so-fun for many people (especially those who experienced Snowmageddon), or 'no big deal'. However, coming from the south Texas area where I recall ONE time in 18 years that it snowed (and it didn't stick) snow is a VERY big deal to me. In fact I'm pretty sure this is the third time I've ever seen an accumulation of snow. I left work about 10:20 yesterday, picked up Bets and got home around 11:15. She was NAPPING when I pulled up and I let her sleep (and anxiously waited for her to wake up so we could PLAY!). These are just pictures on the way home. I'll do a separate post of Betsy playing in the snow :)

This is the soccer field Ben's team was supposed to play on last night! It was cancelled but they are playing tonight. I suspect it will be SUPER muddy. Bets and I are stopping by after work today, it's right next door to our house.
