Christmas vacation pictures!

My thoughts on flying: if you have a baby and you want to go on a trip, try to do so before they become mobile. Betsy was a handful of trouble on the plane. She wasn't BAD, she was curious and waved and talked, and looked at everyone and everything. She did take a nap on the flight home which was great. Flying with Betsy for the first 8 months or so was a piece of cake compared to flying with Betsy now.

The first morning we had breakfast at grills, then we went home so I could decorate the Christmas tree!

Look at this bed head.
Ben and Betsy looking in the water for manatees. For a while they were chanting "TAKE A BREATH!" because Ben wanted Betsy to get to see them. Bets didn't know what they were looking for but she loves all the attention from Daddy and the extra excitement.

My Dad gave me a box he found with my old dance costumes! Of course we played dress up with Bets and she seemed to love it.

Here we are petting the manatees off the dock. Ben took these pictures, the manatees came close enough on two days that we got to pet their noses. They feel scruffy like they need a shave.

Christmas Eve dinner. I helped a little with the cooking, but my major contribution was having the house set up and the tables decorated.

Christmas morning! For the first year we ate breakfast before opening any presents, per my request. I knew it would be a long morning for sweet Betsy, and having a full stomach makes for a happier baby.

This is BETSY. The horse, nay, dog that lives next to my parents.

Here's our tip on flying - take a super early flight that will probably have some open seats, take your carseat with you, and a flight attendent usually will let you grab an empty seat for your little one. I saw this tip in Parents mag and it's worked for us every time!
